Since getting out is more of a challenge this holiday season, finding ways to give back is also more challenging! The Santa Run Community 5K and Toy Drive wants to remove any barriers standing between you and being generous this time of year! That’s why they’re making it easy to donate toys to families in need this holiday season.

On Saturday, December 12th, local organizations and law enforcement are teaming up to host this 5K and drive-through toy drive, both held at Columbus Park. The limited-capacity 5K has already sold out—and since the registration “fee” is one unwrapped toy donation, that means many kids on the Westside of Chicago will be having a happy holiday season! But you can still participate by coming to cheer on the runners and dropping off your own unwrapped toys. The contactless “Stuff the Squad” approach will allow you to hand toys right out of your car window that will be transferred directly into awaiting squad cars and delivered to those local families this December. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
